You may (or may not) have noticed that my blog updates have been, well, sparse, in the last couple weeks. However, while my blog posts have been few and far between, I have most definitely been around.

And busy.

I know, I know, we’re all busy. So, I’ll get to the point.

My mom was in town last weekend (awesome trip!), I’ve been working my tail off (what’s new), attending Happy Hours (both business and personal), meeting amazing ladies at Tweet-ups, exploring San Francisco’s finest parks and amazing views, and so much more.

I’ve been living.

But, I’ve also been working online “behind-the-scenes.” There have been a few changes/additions to TheOffBeatReport that you might not have noticed… I promised some of you I had a surprise so here it is!

I’ve created a new tab at the top of the page called “All Things Community.” After a conversation with PR/Marketing gal and foodie, Kasey, I decided to create a special place for all my blog posts that deal directly with my job and Community Management in general. These posts will include anything and everything social media and will depict my life as a Community Manager. I will, of course, keep the rest of my blog the same.

Also, I’ve built a new way for me to share all of the awesome things I’m doing and seeing – a Lifecast. Lifecasting is really the next step in multi-media art and expression. It’s part memoir, part scrapbook, part like a tattered notebook in which I jot thoughts and ideas and pictures. Ultimately, it exists to tell a story – my story – taking videos and photographs and quotes and conversations and music and sharing them for others to see. It roughly follows the chronology and events in one’s life in real-time, sometimes with others’ collaboration in the form of comments. You could call it a memoir or journalism but I see it as a new method of branding, merged with modern art. Yeah. I said art. Follow along!

Previously, I’ve used Twitter as somewhat of a Lifecast. However, I like the idea of being able to expand a bit on what’s going on and post photos, videos, conversations, etc. all in the same place. I’m going to experiment a bit with my Twitter stream as well.

Consider this a Social Media Makeover.
