I have writer’s block.

I know, color you surprised. This has happened before, but this time is a little different. Yes, I don’t know what to write about, which is essentially one of the definitions of writer’s block, but I can’t seem to distinguish whether it is, in fact, writer’s block, or if I’ve just been too busy to actually form a cohesive thought.

Speaking of books, I finally finished The Lovely Bones (after about 6 months of trying to read it). I’m always a little late on the “popular” books. I like to wait until the hype dies down and I can settle into it after the attention has faded away.

On the road.

In the past two weeks I have been in four states, three timezones, on four planes, and two rental cars. Saying that the past 10 days have been a whirlwind is an understatement.

Ever had one of those days where tasks just keep piling and piling and piling and you’d rather stab yourself in the face with a butter knife than even attempt to sort through all of them? You know, the days when a million different people are asking you to do a million different things and you don’t even know where to start so you just keep taking bathroom breaks in order to avoid the inevitable mound of work that’s piling up?

First of all, yes, I’m admitting to succumbing to the Internet to date. I’m not going to defend my decision to do so farther than stating that I don’t like to meet guys in bars or clubs as they’re only looking for one thing, and with my work and play schedule, it’s hard for me to meet anyone outside of, well, the Internet.

Second of all, it’s hard. Really hard.
