Four Years.

Four Years.

I can hardly believe I’ve been living in San Francisco for four years.

The Girls

The Girls

I went to a very large high school in Colorado. There were about 4,000 students total and just shy of 1,000 in my graduating class. Needless to say, I certainly didn’t know everyone. Post high school, I chose to go to the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Best Friends Forever: The Evolution of True Friendship

Best Friends Forever: The Evolution of True Friendship

Remember, in high school, when you met that one girl (or guy) with whom you just clicked? You both liked the same music, the same burrito bowl at Chipotle, the same smoothie at Jamba Juice, and therefore you were soulmates — attached at the hip. You wove together friendship bracelets and swear you’d never ever take yours off.

On the passage of time

I spent my Saturday night this weekend reminiscing with the lovely Kaci. It may sound silly, but it was all brought on by me considering highlighting my hair again like I used to do. I was showing her pictures that I had found on the Internet of pretty highlighted hair, and next thing we knew, I was sending her old pictures I have of myself with long, almost blonde hair. That was definitely, “back in the day.” But when I really think about it, it wasn’t that long ago.

They say home is where the heart is, but what if your heart is in more than one place?

I spent the past three days in Colorado. I had purchased a discounted ticket a few months back with some coworkers with the intent of spending the weekend on the slopes showing them around my precious Rocky Mountains. As the trip approached, I had to make a decision: show my coworkers from San Francisco around the mountains, or spend time with family and friends in Denver. I opted to spend the weekend catching up with family and friends.

On Birthdays, the passage of time and pole-dancing injuries

As many of you know, it was my Birthday last week. It wasn’t a big Birthday or anything (although gifts are still being accepted), but, like every Birthday, I took a step back and thought about the past year. And about getting older in general. I know, I know, I’m young, I have my whole life ahead of me. But with every year that goes by, I notice all the changes.
