Shoulder Surgery Update: One Week

I can’t believe it’s been one week since my shoulder surgery. It simultaneously feels like yesterday and a month ago. It’s funny how weirdly the days go by when you’re literally doing nothing.

Shoulder Surgery (aka Facing My Fears)

I wasn’t going to write about my shoulder surgery. But, there aren’t that many resources online for women going through this procedure, and writing is one of the best ways I deal with emotions I sometimes can’t otherwise articulate.

Wedding Weekend in Colorado

Last weekend, Gabe and I flew out to Colorado for my college roommate’s wedding. It was a little different than others we’ve attended, and it was absolutely wonderful.

More and Less. 2016.

I’m a little late in my annual “More and Less” post this year, but I’m okay with it. The month of January was intense (to say the least) and I’m just getting my feet back under me.

Lazy Bear

This year, I wanted to do something extra special for my birthday dinner. I’d heard about Lazy Bear from a few friends and colleagues who just raved about it. It started as a “dinner party” hosted at chef David Barzelay’s home (see the anagram?) and is now more like an event than a dinner out. Fun fact: Barzelay was a lawyer before becoming a chef.

It’s the freakin’ weekend… #4

In the spirit of travel, instead of sharing what I’m “etcetera-ing” this week, I’m sharing the essentials I’m packing. These are the items I absolutely can’t live without — especially for an international trip (with a super long flight).

It’s the freakin’ weekend… #3

By the time you’re reading this, I’ll be in Colorado on my way up to FairPlay. “Why Fairplay?” You may ask… This weekend marks the 23rd annual father/daughter fly fishing trip I take with my dad every year.

It’s the freakin’ weekend… #2

It’s been a short, but super busy week this week. San Jose for a video shoot on Tuesday, team offsite (which was really an “onsite offsite”) yesterday, whew! I’m looking forward to the weekend.

It’s the freakin’ weekend…

Who’s ready for a three day weekend? This girl is for sure. One of my best friends got married last weekend (congrats, Julie and Bryce!), I’m pretty sure it took at least half of this week to recover. Now, I have three days to relax (LOL, I have plans every day. Sigh.)

Six Years

Fourth of July will always be a special holiday for me. Not just because I love fireworks and BBQ and patriotic fruit cakes, but because it marks the weekend on which I moved to San Francisco. Six years ago last weekend, I made the best decision of my life (so far, at least).
