Inspired by the wonderful poem “I Have Learned” by Kathy Kane Henson.

I’ve learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved and the rest is up to them.

I’ve learned that thinking before you act is the most important lesson in life.

I’ve learned that hard work does pay off. And then it leads to more hard work.

I’ve learned that it’s ok to be vulnerable sometimes. It’s a reminder you’re human.

I’ve learned that forgiveness is an art that everyone should master.

I’ve learned that independence isn’t always a cure for loneliness. Sometimes there just isn’t a way to fill the empty space.

I’ve learned that trust is the most important aspect of any relationship. And it only takes seconds to destroy.

I’ve learned that it’s not what happens to people that’s important, it’s how they react to it.

I’ve learned that your mind is more powerful than you might think.

I’ve learned that no matter how badly your heart is broken, the world goes on and so should you.

I’ve learned that your family will always be there for you, even if not at first.

I’ve learned that families aren’t solely biological.

I’ve learned that attitude is everything.

I’ve learned that there are some things in life you can’t control, and that accepting that is the hardest thing one can do.

I’ve learned that you can’t change the past, but you can ruin the future by dwelling on it in the present.

I’ve learned that it’s better to be raw and real than someone you’re not.

I’ve learned that best friends are hard to come by, and and should be cherished forever. And that no amount of distance can change that.

I’ve learned that maturity has more to do with the experience you’ve had than the number of Birthdays.

I’ve learned that just because two people fight doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. And just because they don’t fight, doesn’t mean they do.

I’ve learned that people change and grow, and that’s okay.

I’ve learned that some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

I’ve learned that honesty is the best policy. Always.

I’ve learned that life’s not about how many or how much, but about how much you do with the many.

I’ve learned that sometimes we know we shouldn’t and that’s exactly why we do.

I’ve learned that timing is everything in live, but you cannot always wait for the perfect time. Sometimes you just have to dare to jump.

I’ve learned that everyone is “damaged” and “imperfect,” and that should never be a deterrent of exploration.

I’ve learned that I don’t want to be anyone else but myself — the absolute best version of myself.
