I knew this could potentially happen. I guess I just put a little more faith in the dating site’s regulations — you know, I have settings so people who don’t have profile pictures, want open-relationships, are looking for sex partners, cannot message me (now that I think of it, too bad there isn’t just a general CRAZY filter). Among those settings, I was (obviously) asked if I wanted to leave my profile open to both men and women. I politely declined — not that I don’t think women are beautiful…but I’d hate to lead one on 😉

I received a message in my inbox. From a girl. Stating that I was one of her “Quiver” matches and she thinks I’m pretty “dope.”

“Quiver” matches are determined using all the questions you’ve answered, all the profiles you’ve viewed, basically every action you’ve performed on the site. All of this information is compiled into three, specifically tailored to your preferences, matches.

It took me a good 15 minutes perusing her profile to realize that she was, in fact, a she.

Unfortunately, there’s no budding relationship there. Just an OKCupid FAIL.
