My story of Passover

Today is day two of Passover.

I spent the last two nights at family Seders celebrating the Jews’ brave escape from the evil Pharoah. I can’t even tell you how many times I have had to tell the story of Passover to friends and strangers in order to explain why I’m eating “weird” food for eight days and going to big family gatherings. Surprisingly enough, I don’t mind explaining.

“I love you, man”

This film cracked me up. The short, witty one-liners were definitely a highlight. However, it was the concept of the film that really got me thinking. The movie is about a man who is getting married and is in search of a best man for his wedding. He goes on several “man-dates” in order to seek out the best fit for the position. He has no friends. According to his brother, he has always been a “girlfriend guy” where he bounces from relationship to relationship and leaves his friends in the dust, thus, leaving him with no friends whatsoever. Don’t get me wrong, I know this is just a movie, but movies can sometimes dictate real life. Let me break it down for you.

Sex sells

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has noticed the increase in racy ads on TV. Advertising and sex have been tied together since advertising really took off as a business. Sexually suggestive images are used to sell just about anything.

Home “bittersweet” home

It’s always bittersweet returning home from a trip. Especially a great one.

My trip last week to San Francisco was incredible. It was different than a usual spring break vacation.

I <3 SF

I love airports. They are prime real estate for people-watching. I see people tuned in to their laptops, with the signature apple iPhone earbuds hanging from one ear and their blackberry glued to the other. It’s fascinating how technology has taken over our lives – and it is blatantly obvious at the airport.

My first blog post

I am a writer. I love to write. I live to write. I decided to join the blogging craze (after facebook and twitter, of course) in order to keep my writing fresh. Despite me being a senior at the University of Colorado in Boulder, the Editor-in Chief of the CU Independent and have taken a plethora of writing classes throughout the duration of my years in college, I feel my writing abilities haven’t been stretched to their maximum potential.

I need to keep the creative juices flowing.

So, I will write here. I am not sure what exactly I will write about, but I will try to make it as interesting as possible. Who knows, maybe one day it will make me famous.
