15 years. It’s been 15 years since Ms. Marsell’s English class where I met my best friend. Much like the beginnings of many friendships, we didn’t quite like each other at first. But, we persevered. And throughout the last 15 years, we’ve continued to persevere.

It was the middle of June 2009 and my mom and I had walked miles and miles around San Francisco looking for an apartment. We didn’t have much time to find one, sign a lease and get a set of keys. We walked everywhere, sometimes in heels, and we just hadn’t found the right apartment for me to start my new journey in San Francisco.

Every year since I was very little, my mom, brother and I visit my Ya Ya and Pop Pop in Arizona over the holidays. This year was no different. I flew in Christmas Eve and spent five days relaxing, reading, playing Gin, and spending time with family in sunny Arizona.

Pantone’s color of the year. Rich, sophisticated, earthy, elegant. I’m a huge fan of this year’s color of the year. Honestly, I feel like it’s a little more wearable than last year’s Radiant Orchid (although that color is gorgeous, too).
