On good food, myth busting and (yet another) new endeavor.
As you know, I just recently updated my Digital Vision Board. One of the images that has stuck with the vision board despite its updates, is one of good, healthy, wholesome food. Now, I may be a little late on the Health Food Bandwagon, but a little late is better...
My (Digital) Vision Board: An Update
Over a year ago, I created a digital vision board. It was full of images of who I want to become, what I want to have, what I want to be doing, and where I want to be in my life. The idea is that my life would change to match those images and those desires.
Two Years.
Two years ago today, my dad and I unloaded the last box from our rented Penske truck after driving 21 hours from Boulder to San Francisco. I was nervous, excited and scared. But mostly excited.
The impossibility of writing about yourself.
Last week, I was asked to write a bio for myself that would appear underneath every byline I have on a corporate blog. I panicked. I don’t know what to say about myself! About a year ago, I had a short bio written for me for my bylines in iMedia Connection. I decided to recycle that bio — update my job title, added a link to my Twitter account and call it a day.
I still write.
I was 12 when I received my first journal. It was cream in color, glazed with floral details and complete with a brass lock and a key. I attached the key to a chain and wore it around my neck every day. I feared if I ever removed the necklace, I would instantly lose the key and anyone would be able to break into my thoughts. I was probably right.
Never Had I Ever: Bloggers in Sin City
To everyone who is reading this that I had the pleasure of meeting in Vegas for #BiSC, this will be redundant. To everyone who is reading this that did not attend #BiSC, DO IT NEXT YEAR.
Protected: Pay it Forward
Hello fellow #BiSC-uits! Hope everyone is recovering nicely from the weekend. I don’t know about you, but I had such an incredible time meeting all of you this weekend. It’s pretty incredible to be surrounded by 60 people you’ve mostly only known...
While I’ve been away…
As some of you may (or may not) have noticed, I haven’t posted to my beloved TOBR in about three weeks. I am not apologizing for being absent.
London: The Land of Escalators, Beer Gardens and Sexy Accents
I spent 7 days in London, England last week. It was incredible and exhausting and overwhelming and magnificent. I’ve never traveled to Europe before, so when Context Optional offered me the opportunity to work in London for a week and help build out our relationships abroad, I jumped. How high? High enough.
On progression, living in the now and the ultimate gut check. Oh, and London.
“I guess I don’t have a ‘future’ plan,” I said to a friend on GChat. He inquired about my recent promotion at Context Optional and where I wanted to go from here.
Slow down. You’re moving too fast.
In February, I had the pleasure of sipping a glass of red wine with Molly from Stratejoy, Nicole, Suki and Amy. First of all, these ladies are all amazing. Second of all, I would be surprised if Molly made it through one get together without asking a question that makes everyone think.
Book Review: The Lovely Bones
Speaking of books, I finally finished The Lovely Bones (after about 6 months of trying to read it). I’m always a little late on the “popular” books. I like to wait until the hype dies down and I can settle into it after the attention has faded away.
